Featured Artist of the Week - 4/21/09: The 6 O'Clock Stitch

The 6 O'Clock Stitch on Etsy creates beautiful and practical sewn items, as well as some selected vintage goods. Upon entering the shop, I was delighted to see these handmade children's toys, a handmade plush apple and banana. Not only do they look so high quality, but it promotes good nutrition habits in children, and I love that.

The second thing I noticed in The 6 O'Clock Stitch is the nice selection of practical items: sewn hand bags, diaper changing pads, an apron, clothing, a blanket, etc.

Just as lovely as her handmade goods is her blog, The 6 O'Clock Stitch on Blogspot. I read an especially inspiring piece about being a mother who stays at home to care for her children, but also feels irresistably compelled to create, which I completely identify with. It is definitely worth a read, as is the rest of the blog.

You can also find The 6 O'Clock Stitch on Twitter, HERE.
